WHAT’S THE BOOK ABOUT
It started off as a battle of wits. Me: the ordinary girl with a big mouth against Him: the sexy bastard with a big…ego.
I thought I’d hit the jackpot when I was upgraded to first class on my flight to London.
That is until HE sat next to me. Gabriel Scott: handsome as sin, cold as ice. Nothing and no one gets to him. Ever. He’s a legend in his own right, the manager of the biggest rock band in the world, and an arrogant ass who looks down his nose at me.
I thought I’d give him hell for one, long flight. I didn’t expect to like him. I didn’t expect to want him. But the biggest surprise? He wants me too. Only in a way I didn’t see coming.
If I accept his proposal, I leave myself open to falling for the one man I can’t manage. But I’m tempted to say yes. Because the real man beneath those perfect suits and that cool façade just might be the best thing that’s ever happened to me. And I just might be the only one who can melt the ice around his heart.
Let the battle begin.
WHY YOU SHOULD READ THIS BOOK
Managed (VIP #2) by Kristen Callihan is an excellent, steamy romance. It won my heart.
The main characters, Gabriel and Sophie, are like chalk and cheese. Gabriel is a reserved man and cold like ice. He does not let people in, not even his best friends. Whereas Sophie is a chatterbox and an exuberant person.
Well, as they say, opposites attract. The sizzling chemistry between Gabriel and Sophie leaps off the pages.
The best part of Managed is the slow-burn romance. Callihan does not let her characters engage in a romp in the bed until well after the second half. Till then, it was a bittersweet ride for me as well as for the main characters.
Gabriel and Sophie are in love with each other. They have not realized it yet. What they have realized is their physical attraction to each other, but none will take the first step to venture into that area. You got to read the book to find out why. I felt the palpable connection and the unbearable sexual tension between them. Callihan’s writing let me feel the rawness of their emotions.
It’s not just the main characters who are brilliant, but also the supporting cast. The way the members of the rock band always have Gabriel’s back was touching to read. Further, Callihan gave me a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the lives of members of a rock band.
Overall, I loved reading Managed (VIP #2) by Kristen Callihan. It is a gripping, steamy romance. Heartily recommended for romance lovers.
